There are no federal laws setting out the minimum age a person needs to be to purchase delta 8 THC. However, some states mandate that individuals must be at least 21 while others require buyers to be at least 18. Since state laws can be very inconsistent, some delta 8 retailers require that customers be 21 years old or older. This is in keeping with the age requirement to purchase delta 8 THC products in states where recreational cannabis is legal. The effects of Delta 8 THC can last for up to five hours but the compound can take a lot longer to leave your system. When you use THC, it leaves small molecules called metabolites in your body and these can stick around for a week or longer. Research shows that about 80 to 90 percent of the THC is flushed out within five days but it may take another five days for the remaining 10 to 20 percent to be flushed out.
